Well, better late than ever!

With huge apologies to anyone who might have been hoping to send their Isle of Vue card to their partner (or anyone else!) this year, I didn't make it on time.  I think that's the first time, it has always been close in previous years, but this year a combination of circumstances could not be avoided.

So eventually, at 4am this morning, the following stamp issue was listed on ebay:

This year the subject of the stamps is one of the romantic tropical beaches on the Isle of Vue - and a couple who seem to return every year, who have so far managed to remain anonymous, and, it would seem, will continue to do so again in future...  If you should ever find yourselves there and you see them, say hello from me  :-)

Here is a close-up of the individual stamps:

This year's range is slightly smaller than in previous years, we have...

Single stamps - in a printed envelope. This year the cost is slightly higher because we are also including in each bag of single stamps TWO alternative variants stamps torn out of a test sheet we had printed. To make this even more interesting for collectors these alternative variant stamps are torn out as pairs in as many different combinations as we could - so there is a very slim chance your pair might turn out to contain TWO alternative variants, or statistically more likely, paired with a standard stamp.

PLUS, in this bag there will ALSO be some other Valentine's stamps which were due to be sold in sheets on Etsy - before unexpected events intervened.

A sheet of 16 stamps, including one 'variant'.  (The variant is quite easy to spot so don't look too closely at the photos if you don't want to spoil your surprise...)

A first day cover, featuring the standard and the variant stamp and limited to 50 copies, signed by both Alan and I

An A5 colour test sheet. We did a lot of red versions.

An A4 artwork proof showing the developent of the design and illustration, signed by Alan and I, and featuring the various stamps available.

And the 'Special Delivery' package of all the above, which gives you a discount for buying one of each item.

As in previous years we are also offering:

A FREE Bonus stamp to anyone spending over £35

A FREE Bonus stamp to Forum members

A FREE 'Early Bird' Bonus stamp to the first 20 buyers. Be warned, this applies to ALL buyers so if someone reserves a set of everything for delivery to a stamp show, or buys direct from me they also qualify for the Early Bird free stamp so do not assume that because there are 16 of everything still available on ebay that there are still 16 Early Bird stamps left - when they are gone they are GONE!

See the whole range here:

Please note this is the Laernu ebay page as it is selling items produced by Alan and I not the 52Cherries page I use for my own stuff.

And finally... an apology to anyone who suffers from the problems I continue to have with ebay on buying multiple items. I thought this would not be a prolem on the Laernu page (it didn't used to be) but the additional problem this time is that ebay seem to be trying to encourage sellers to use their central packing service, particularly for international sales and the only way I could get everything lsietd last night was to set up a standard p&p cost for all internatiinal postage for all the items, meaning it will cost the same to send an individual stamp as it would the complete pack of stamps Shocked  This is of course ridiculous but was the only way I could get the system to accept the listings late last night.

PLEASE REST ASSURED THAT WHATEVER THE LUDICROUS TOTAL COST OF POSTAGE WILL BE, I WILL REFUND TO YOU THE EXCESS POSTAGE SO THAT YOU ARE ONLY PAYING ONCE FOR P&P, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

If anyone knows how to get around this silliness I would be very happy to hear about it!

THANK YOU ALL!  I hope you like the stamps (please give me feedback on the Isle of Vue thread not on the sales listing here) and that despite them coming out the day after Valentine's Day I can still sell enough of them to pay for the printing and materials!

Thank you Steve, I have no intention of giving up just yet!

All orders received to date have now been mailed out - so keep an eye out for your respective posties. They have been sent 'signed for' so apologies in advance to anyone who has to troop down to their sorting office to collect, but the packs are too expensive to risk sending ordinary post.

Many thanks to everyone who has ordered.

If you post any comments or pictures on the forum (not in this thread though, please!) be sure not to create spoilers as some of the packages have a long way to travel  Wink Wink Wink

Mine have arrived and yet again a surperb collection, especially as you have said time was against you. What would have had if it wasn't?
I liked the newpaper clipping giving the backstory nicely condensed, and how since the Lovebirds issue you and Alan have managed to produce an overarching them to the stamps. And the colour trials sheet demonstrates especially well on this issue how the choice of colours really sets a mood for the stamps. Each of those would have given a different perspective to the stamps. What do others think?
I think I have identified all the variants, but will leave it for others to find them for themselves.

Many thnaks for these

Thank you Steve

We need to either continue the existing Isle of Vue thread under 'Cinderella Stamps' or start a new one just for the 2020 stamps, any comments made to this 'Market Place'  thread will otherwise be lost  :-)

I am very interested to hear what everyone thinks of this issue  Big smile

Thanks again!  And all hail the mighty Wrexham Royal mail for getting yours to you first!
