Hiromi, Douglas certainly approved of the stamp showing him!  When he visited New Zealand on a speaking tour, I took along a few dozen envelopes with that 42c stamp affixed and postmarked with that day, and gave them to him and asked him to autograph them.

He was surprised to see the stamp, so I explained about Occussi-Ambeno.  He signed all the envelopes, then I presented him with half the pile for his own distribution.

If Panterra is the admin and owner of the forum I don't see why he shouldn't be allowed to post up as many pictures of his own stamps as he likes, as awful as they are, it IS his forum.

He isn't the owner/admin of this forum!

No - that is my privilege.  Though sometimes I wonder if it is actually worth it.

I started this forum to provide a place where people could discuss their cinderella stamp collections, but instead, the busiest thread for some time now seems to revolve around one business's gripe about not having their advert published.

Something none of us here can do anything about.

Surely Panterra your immediate argument is with the CSC and not for our stamps forum.

As so many members are clearly annoyed that this thread has been diverted away from its original direction I will move it to a new thread of its own, away from the CSC link.

PLEASE play nicely people, or the forum will be shut down.  If we cannot stick to discussing cinderella and fantasy stamps then I want no more to do with it.

This thread moved from the CSC magazine thread, January 2020.

Do you still have any of that other 'half a pile' left Panterre?

I would very much like a signed envelope if you have one left, I am a big fan of Douglas Adams and I know lots of other fans who would like a signed copy too.  You could be sitting on a small fortune there

What was he speaking about or did you only go to get a few dozen envelopes signed?

Sneaked those in  Wink   but if you really don't like him or his stamps why do you keep replying, and providing a reason for reply or (worse) more pictures...?

Douglas spoke about his new book, the latest in the "hitch-hiker" series at the time (featuring the "travelling parties".)  He read extracts from it, as it had not been published at the time, and all the audience was enthused.  I got to do his introduction, as I had liased with the publishing company about him coming to speak, which was an event held at Auckland University under the auspices of the AU Science-Fiction Society.

I am sure I have some of these covers around here someplace, but just been to hunt in the most obvious place but no sign.  I'll keep hunting, and hope to add a photo here when they turn up.

I am not arguing, I am just letting everyone here know about the unreasonable discrimination that is going on in the CSC.  Stuff that they hoped you would NEVER know about, but thanks to the wonderful internet, is now exposed to all.

It's a tough job presenting a small gay country in the Fifth World, but made tougher when you get smarmy folks pretending to be "do-gooders" sabotaging everything you do.  But we persist. Big smile
