I am foremost a cover collector and it was by collecting covers that I also became a cinderella collector.  I like cinderellas on cover, preferably tied by a  postmark.  This cover, a recent acquisition, was purchased  for my Cinderella on Cover collection.

On the reverse is a Fire Prevention Week label used as a seal for the cover's flap that is accidentally tied by a Muskegon, Michigan, machine cancel with an appropriate Prevent Forest Fires slogan cancel.  I say the cinderella is accidentally tied because I cannot image a city post office intentionally applying a receiving cancel as late as 1951.

As a bonus, this cover came with a block of four Fire Prevention Week labels different than the one tied to the cover.  I don't know the issue date of either, but surely circa 1951.

An additional collecting point for this cover is its addressee, Francis Beedon.  He wrote the weekly stamp column for the Muskegon Chronicle and the Cadillac Daily News.  I speculate that someone from the Chicago Philatelic Society, sponsor of the cover's cachet, used this cover to send a news release of its availability to regional stamp column editors.  All-in-all a collectable cover for me

I like the way you are collceting Cinderellas. It shows them in context for their purpose, and places them in time.

An Evangelical Lutheran Sanitarium cover posted on Christmas Day, 1938, and partially franked with one of the sanitarium's 1938 charity seals tied by the cancel.

Located just west of Denver, Colorado, the sanitarium opened for the treatment of tuberculous in 1905 and continued until 1961 when it was sold and turned into a Lutheran hospital.  It also trained nurses and provided devotional literature to patients.

The sanitarium began issuing charity seals as a fund raiser in 1910, first in booklets and then in sheets.
