Hello Colin, hello everybody ! I'm french (nobody's perfect), but very happy to be here ! I have been reading the pages of this forum for some time, and then one day, after buying some of his nice sheets (the last dead letters), I had nice words exchanged with Colin. After that, I thought I could join your community, instead of just visiting it anonymously, and try to participate as best I can. I am a beginner in cinderellas in general (I am a little bit more up to date on DW stamps), so I will doubtlessly ask naive questions sometimes ... I hope you will not blame me ... and my English will sometimes be a little rough! I like all sort of art, but especially engraving (metal, wood, lino). Which brought me to the Roundworld postage stamps, and old engraved illustrations of glorious times (before the photography invade the books). I like illuminations from manuscripts of the Middle Ages, too, japanese prints ... and so many other works, so many artists, so many techniques from so many countries, from all eras... I love English humor and I admire all the works of Sir Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Jasper Fforde (Thurday Next serie) in particular. I love good food (cooking it AND eating it with my family and friends), nature, life. I'm too talkative ... I stop there! See you soon on the posts! |

A first post from a new member. I'm a long-time stamp and cover collector (50 + years), but fairly new to cinderellas. Looks like many of the members on this forum are European. I am from the U.S., Oklahoma, retired and spending a lot of time with my collections. Looking for a specific item is what brought me here. I'll post about that in another thread. Don Stamphinger.
