I've got to admit that does sound like a pretty good source of expertise! Smile

Given the crudeness of the printing, this was most likely made by some private individual or company. There were hundreds of such labels printed during and just after WWII.
A very nice item. Given that Cape Town is the starting point for both covers shown, if these are 'Made in Britain', then maybe they came over on a Naval ship ?

Nice to offer the item on eBay but may I suggest an edit for the description which could be very misleading. I have seen the item here and it has been discussed but someone going to the eBay listing will only see what they see on the screen. This is not a complaint, I just want the item to sell for what it's worth and these rarely come in such blocks [not that I have seen anyway].
If I had come across the listing as it is, I would not bid because of the description both in the 'item condition' [top] and 'item specifics' [below].
I would also be put off by the International postage charges and would ask for the item to be sent to an Aussie address for forwarding. Again, this is not a complaint, it is to give you more chances to sell the item at a realistic price.

Thanks for showing this block, as I have an interest in Patriotic and Propaganda material.

It looks like someone has already put in a  bid so it appears they do not share your concerns londonBus1   Wink

Also the seller states on the listing he will be away throughout the time of the sale so presumably would not be able to change the description while he is absent?

I hope there are more bidders as it's a nice item. That particular bid was placed just after I wrote here !! I would guess that he or she is in Oz......but one never knows !! Leaving aside the description as I had already seen the item here, I found the postage charge just too prohibitive for my meagre budget.

Not a good return for such a nice item........in my humble opinion. If the winner was in Oz, then it was disappointing I guess.

Still, thanks for showing it here. Nice to see.
