What a great Cinderella stamp! It would have been great to be there, at the finishing line, for this event.

I can't even look at a picture of a Zeppelin without thinking of the Hindenberg exploding.

This event looks like an accident waiting to happen, there are far too many pointy bits  Shocked

You comment reminds me of this Arrogant Worms song: http://arrogantworms1.bandcamp.com/track/history-is-made-by-stupid-people" rel="nofollow - History is made by stupid people

This verse always makes me smile, although it probably really shouldn't:

The Hindenburg was a giant zepplin
Its makers made a minor oversight
Before they filled it up with explosive gas
They should have fixed the no-smoking light

It a nice stamp too!

Thanks for bidding Pat.  I thought the buyers of the tete-beche pairs deserved something a bit different from the Black Cats on their envelopes. These are taken from another gummed paper test sheet and again will need a bit of development if they were to be turned into a proper issue.  Seemed a pity to leave them sitting in a drawer  Big smile

So a pertial, and I mean partial, sheet image has been revelaed.

At least 4 border colours exist
Text colour baries for each background
Picture colour varies on each background
Probably an inverted on each background
At least 16 colour variations out there!
Doin' my 'ead in

Don't be disheartened Steve.

The Zeppelin labels were not intended to be collected. They are from a rather hastily produced single sheet of samples printed to test some gummed paper and not an 'issue'.

They were only intended as a bonus with the tete-beche pairs.

I shouldn't worry, Colin. Steve likes having his 'ead done in... metaphorically speaking only, of course. He needs a regular supply of things upon which to ponder deeply. It's an addiction! Big smile

I am looking for more variations on these, both posted up here and doing trades or whatever for my collection.
