Worldwide Revenues

I thought that as there are no scans of Revenue stamps as yet in this category, we should set the ball in motion and put that to rights.

Revenue stamps from many nations are hugely attractive and although I know very little about them, I do add some to my collection occasionally.

In 2012, I was lucky enough to have valued and sold a very nice old time collection of classic stamps and cinderellas for a friend of a friend. It was a wonderful experience, and I offered to do it just for that. I did, however, save a few items for myself and the following is one of them.

The London Mayor's Court Revenue Proof, Imperf, really caught my eye and I just couldn't let it go. Circa 1888 although the proof itself may have been produced slightly earlier. I have since promised myself to add some of the used Revenues of the series, which are mostly perfin cancelled, but just haven't got around to it ! One day I will.

So let's see some of your Revenues and give this thread, and Category, some colour. If possible please post up real Revenues and not the fantasy types which have a place of their own.

Egyptian Ministry of Finance revenue.

A couple of Jaipur Court Fee Revenues, again lovely designs. Manuscript cancels.

There are many beautiful revenue stamps from India and States and worth a bit of searching.
